Comprehensive ADHD evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management by a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in Oldsmar, Florida. Accepting new patients.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental conditions, affecting approximately 6 million children and 8 million adults in the United States. Despite its prevalence, ADHD remains widely misunderstood and frequently goes undiagnosed, especially in adults.
ADHD is not simply a matter of willpower or laziness. It is a real, brain-based condition that affects the way a person regulates attention, impulses, and activity levels. With proper evaluation and treatment, individuals with ADHD can thrive at school, at work, and in their relationships.
ADHD looks different depending on age. Recognizing the signs is the first step toward getting help.
Difficulty paying attention in school, trouble following instructions, frequently losing things, excessive fidgeting, talking out of turn, and difficulty waiting. Academic struggles and behavioral challenges often prompt the initial evaluation.
Chronic difficulty organizing tasks, poor time management, restlessness, trouble completing projects, forgetfulness in daily responsibilities, and impulsive decision-making. Many adults are diagnosed for the first time after years of struggling.
ADHD is not caused by bad parenting or too much screen time. It is not something children simply outgrow. Girls and women are frequently underdiagnosed because their symptoms tend to be less outwardly disruptive. ADHD is a real medical condition that deserves proper treatment.
Many adults living with ADHD have never been diagnosed. If daily life feels harder than it should, you are not alone.
Piles of unopened mail, missed deadlines, and a constant feeling of being behind. Adults with ADHD often struggle to create and maintain systems for managing daily tasks.
Chronically running late, underestimating how long things take, and difficulty prioritizing. Time blindness is one of the most impactful and least understood symptoms of adult ADHD.
Internal restlessness that makes it hard to relax, combined with mental fatigue from constantly compensating. Many adults develop anxiety or depression alongside undiagnosed ADHD.
Adults with undiagnosed ADHD may also experience:
A thorough, individualized approach to ADHD care that goes beyond a prescription pad.
A detailed clinical interview covering your history, symptoms, functioning, and goals. We assess for ADHD specifically and rule out other conditions that can mimic or co-occur with it, such as anxiety, depression, or sleep disorders.
When appropriate, Melody prescribes and carefully monitors ADHD medications, including both stimulant and non-stimulant options. Dosing is adjusted over time to find the right balance of symptom relief with minimal side effects.
Practical tools and coping techniques for managing time, organization, and focus in your daily life. Medication works best when combined with strategies tailored to how ADHD shows up for you specifically.
Regular follow-up visits to track your progress, adjust treatment as needed, and address any new concerns. ADHD management is an ongoing process, and we stay engaged every step of the way.

The path from uncertainty to clarity starts with one appointment.
Schedule your initial appointment through our secure online portal. Before your visit, you will complete intake forms that help us understand your history, current symptoms, and what prompted you to seek an evaluation.
During your 60-minute initial visit, Melody conducts a thorough psychiatric evaluation focused on ADHD. This includes a detailed review of your developmental history, academic and work performance, current symptoms, and how they affect your daily functioning. For children, we gather input from parents or caregivers.
If ADHD is confirmed, we develop a personalized treatment plan together. This may include medication, behavioral strategies, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with teachers, therapists, or other providers. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor your progress and fine-tune your care.
